Kerry Hallam, whose first book Far Horizons: A Celebration of Life is sold
out in both the original and deluxe signed edition, has a forward by David
Rogath, an essay by Donna Smith Fee, and a preface by the artist himself,
who writes;
To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, art is the creation of beautiful untruth. In
this respect it occurs to me that for the past forty years I have been fully
engaged in the pursuit of that premise. If my paintings indeed are lies,
therein is their justification. Their raison detre - to offer a glimpse of
places that quench the thirst, feed the spirit and free the soul. Beautiful
lies, I hope.
The 144-page volume presents the body of his work in chapters with titles
such as Ports of Call, Riviera Vistas, and Twilight, capturing the
evocative, exotic, and romantic nature of Hallams work. |
